These earrings are recycled from old English silver three and sixpence coins. Traditionally lucky, these wee silver coins are mostly unwanted by coin collectors due to the vast quantity available. Obviously if they are in good condition and haven't been circulated, they are collectable. Generally, the hundred plus years of circulation takes its toll. Especially as silver is relatively soft compared to modern base metal coins.

 

These pure silver threepence and sixpence's are perfect for transformation. I dome, pierce and polish all of the coins by hand. The original edge of the coin can be seen clearly. Each pair of earrings has a lovely bed of real 'hundreds and thousands' cake decorations. These look great 'set' within the dome of the silver six pence's.

 

Each pair is totally different, completely unique and very special. Especially if you love cakes!
