Escape - a recycled spoon or fork handle...
Each one of these precious metal combinations is totally 'one-off'
and unique. What they have in common is the basic recycled raw materials
sterling silver and 9ct gold. The silver is sourced from old English
silver coins and the gold is reclaimed unfashionable jewellery that
people no longer wear.
Silver and Gold contrast beautifully when combined
and fused. In the case of this pendant i have melted and beaten the
silver coin into submission! I have then carved a star and heart into
a steel bar and stamped the surface of the silver. The impression left
by the stamping is oxidised to reveal the detail. A simple gold star
and heart have then been cut from the gold and fused into position on
the pendant.
The pendant is a gorgeous rustique looking silver and gold
piece, with a honest background. 100% recycled and handcrafted in Cambridge.
