The Star Crossed lovers collection. Hairygrowler sterling silver 'my valentine' handcrafted silver love heart pendant. Totally original, handmade and recycled from old English sterling silver coins.

The 'star crossed' pendant is a gorgeous piece of recycled silver. Each one is made slightly different. The swirls and stars designed in an original way. Every one is totally unique, yet still representative of the pendant shown above. Old English silver coins are recycled to create this design. The silver is fused, cut, hammered and polished to a beautiful finish.

 

I choose to use old English silver coins for ethical reasons, its always my priority to recycle rather than use new raw materials. However, from a aesthetic and design perspective the old silver provides a much more tactile and interesting material to work with.

 

The finished piece of jewellery is also more interesting to look at, I endevour to leave historical details visible where posible.
