“The Alder was the magical first tree of Bran, most high of the Celts. The giver of courage, rhythm, vibration and connection conscious awareness.” – The Harey Growler.

Magical tree jewellery honouring the Alder.  The Alder is given to the fourth moonth of the thirteen month Lunar calendar (18th March – 14th April).   The ancient ancestors knew the Alder was the magical first tree of Bran, most high of the Celts. The giver of courage, rhythm, vibration and connection conscious awareness.  The tree is never far from source material, water.

The magical tree of Bran, King or God of the Celts, the alder never stands far from water. It is common in eurpoean forests and woods where there’s a river bank, a lake edge, a winding stream or marshy meadow land. The magic of the Fearn (pronounced verern) is that it spans the space between earth and water, with its roots in the two elements – so – that faery space of betwixt and between.

It is this nature that no doubt connected the tree with magic.  Subsequently, spanning the whurlds between the physical reality and non physical consciousness.  The area the workshop is based there are still places carrying the alder name from centuries past are Aldreth in Cambridgeshire and Alderford in Norfolk.  A testament to the connection people had with the Alder tree.  Hairy Growler Magical tree jewellery.
