Recycled antique sterling silver fork
The Ouroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent eating its own tail. It often represents the eternal return and the idea of unity related to something existing in or persisting from the beginning with such force or qualities it cannot be extinguished.
Ouroboros symbolism has been used to describe Kundalini energy. According to the second century Yoga Kundalini Upanishad, “The divine power, Kundalini, shines like the stem of a young lotus; like a snake, coiled round upon herself she holds her tail in her mouth and lies resting half asleep as the base of the body”. Another interpretation is that Kundalini equates to the entwined serpents of the caduceus, the entwined serpents representing medicine in the west or, esoterically, human DNA.
These fantastic little rings are true Hairy Growler original rings. Totally handcrafted and completely 100% recycled, zero waste. Each ring is created by heating up an old, discarded antique silver fork and forming it into a ring, the ‘handle’ of the fork and the fork prong is lovingly manipulated into the Ouroboros. Once the parts of the fork are formed into Ouroboros rings they are gradually and carefully hammer texturted and buffed and polished to a high lustre finish.
The price includes two specially created Ouroboros rings presented with the original antique silver ‘donor’ fork.
