Recycled silver sixpence coins.
Above the gloomy clouds the stars are twinkling. These lovely, delicately created earrings are made from sterling silver sixpence coins. Thus, not only are they recycled, but they have a fantastic history and story. Passed from person to person, spent, traded, saved, given as a gift for a hundred years. Now out of circulation, these coins are so worn and have so many ‘imperfections’ they are un-collectable. Bought and donated as scrap, these coins are transformed and re-born as cute silver jewellery.
The techniques used to create the earrings are simple and traditional. The clouds are created from silver sixpences, whilst the stars are handcut from old English copper pennies and brass ‘thrupney-bits’.
Handmade and completely recycled in Cambridge, UK. Complete with the finest sterling silver earwires.
Size : Approx 50 mm * 23 mm

    Perfect for cold weather!

These are adorable and so seasonably fashionable. Perhaps wearing clouds and rain could help our area of the USA which is experiencing record drought?

Fantastic reminder that after the darkness there is light!

Another beauty from the Genius that Is Hairy Growler! Each piece of his that I see becomes my new favorite, they are too many to count at this point! This one is wonderful in that the dark clouds make us appreciate the brightness of the stars all the more!
