Recycled sterling silver Crown and sixpence coins
Inspired by my love of hares and the book; Watership Down. These lovely leaping lapin lovelies are escaping from Efrafa and heading towards the curious forest fete.
Each and every Hare is carefully hand cut from a recycled sterling silver Victorian or Georgian sixpence coin. The background swirls and stars have been pierced from a large flattened silver Crown coin circa 1850’s. They are ‘racing’ towards the beautifully rustic set Peridot stone. The necklace is originally finished with a hand wrought ‘shepards crook’ safety catch with accompanying feature star.
You are welcome to choose a particular necklace length, type of charm at the catch, etc. A secret little extra…. the necklace can be worn in reverse which shows a lovely suprise nighttime scene of swirls and stars…
Handcrafted & Recycled in Cambridge.
Size : Approx 90 mm * 42 mm
Many of the necklace / pendant designs are complete. These designs have a sterling silver chain attached to the pendant from both sides. This design is perfect for looking in a mirror to fasten the necklace. It also makes a fabulous feature of the handmade hook catch (and star if chosen). The necklace length you choose includes the length of the actual pendant. Do not worry about the pendant dimensions we will take care of your order. Order the necklace length you would normally wear and the necklace you receive will sit in the perfect position..
