Recycled silver shilling
This gorgeous little pendant has been recycled from an old English silver shilling. It is pure silver, perfect for transformation and to be recycled into a lovely wearable piece of original jewellery.
Firstly I sketch the outline of the flower. Then I carefully and delicately follow the sketch with a jewellers piercing saw, cutting away the bits of coin surplus to the finished design. I drill several miniature holes and carve away the inside sections to give intricate detail and depth. I then simply file, smooth and polish the flower, revealing a great finished flower pendant.
The fantastic part of this pendant is that details of the original silver shillin are evident, giving a lovely history and story to it. Additionally, I leave the separate cut-away part of the coin with the pendant. These two elements slip together beautifully revealing the full identity of the pendant. Green in every way! Obviously, each one totally different, completely unique and very special.
Handcrafted and recycled in Cambridge.

Gorgeous little flower pendant that I had with the silver finesse chain to really set it off. It’s completely unique and will make a lovely gift for my Kiwi niece…a little bit of English silver. It arrived beautifully packaged too.
