Recycled silver Florin coin

This beautiful little silver tree pendant has been meticulously handcrafted from a flattened sterling silver half crown coin, pre 1919. These lovely old pure silver coins are fab to work with. Each one of these trees is a complete pleasure to create.

The design is freely sketched on to the surface of the flattened coin. This basic outline is traced meticulously with a jewellers saw. Here the details are embellished and refined. The fineness of the saw blade allows me to reveal details of leaves and branches i would find difficult to do with a pen. Once the tree is cut away from the confines of the original coin it is then carefully filed and polished.

The ‘off-cut’ of the silver coin is included for your interest, forming a lovely connection between the beautiful new tree of life necklace and it original material use and history.

Every one is totally unique, individual and unique.

NECKLACE INFORMATION

Many of the necklace / pendant designs are complete. These designs have a sterling silver chain attached to the pendant from both sides. This design is perfect for looking in a mirror to fasten the necklace. It also makes a fabulous feature of the handmade hook catch (and star if chosen). The necklace length you choose includes the length of the actual pendant. Do not worry about the pendant dimensions we will take care of your order. Order the necklace length you would normally wear and the necklace you receive will sit in the perfect position..
