Rather than being melted down and stripped of their history, the coins were brought to the bench and given pause. From their silver, the moon-gazing hare emerged, still, upward-looking, and full of that old feeling of wonder that has followed the hare through folklore for generations.

At the Bench

This pendant is made entirely by hand.

The design is freehand sketched onto the silver shillings, then delicately cut and carved with a jeweller’s piercing saw. From there, the piece is carefully filed, shaped, polished, and oxidised so that the bright silver of the hare is held against the darker depth of the midnight sky. Each one is handmade and unique, with optional initials available on the reverse and a choice of field details such as wild mushroom, flower, or grass.

No casting.
No moulds.
No shortcuts.

Only old silver, hand tools, and the patient uncovering of what the metal can hold.
