A little more detail…
Under the Same Moon
Recycled British Silver Coin Necklace — dated 1883
Some moments are shared in silence.
Under the Same Moon is a necklace shaped from a reclaimed British silver coin dated 1883, transformed by hand into a quiet woodland scene. Two hares sit beneath a cratered moon, surrounded by scattered stars — a moment of stillness captured in silver, held within a circle that once passed through countless hands.
This is jewellery that invites pause.
The Coin
This piece begins with a genuine Victorian British silver coin, struck in 1850′ – 1890’s.
Once everyday currency, the coin carries softened edges, worn detail, and the unmistakable feel of age earned through use. Rather than being melted down and stripped of its past, the silver is preserved and worked directly — allowing its history to remain visible in the finished piece.
The date remains as a quiet anchor to time.
The Design — Under the Same Moon
At the heart of the pendant, two hares face one another beneath a textured moon.
In folklore, hares are creatures of liminal spaces — associated with the moon, cycles, intuition, and quiet knowing. Here they are depicted in companionship rather than motion: attentive, grounded, and present.
The surrounding stars and crescent moon frame the scene, creating a sense of night sky contained within a single silver circle.
This is not a story told aloud, but one felt.
Made by Hand
The design is saw-pierced and engraved by hand directly from the original coin.
Each element — the hares, stars, and moon — is shaped and refined at the bench, guided by eye rather than machine precision. The process leaves subtle variations that speak to the hand behind the work and the individuality of the original coin.
No two pieces are ever identical.
Wear & Patina
As a piece made from reclaimed silver, Under the Same Moon will continue to develop patina with wear.
Highlights soften, shadows deepen, and the surface gains character over time. The necklace feels settled and familiar from the first wear, growing more personal as it ages alongside its wearer.
This is silver that welcomes touch.
Meaning & Wearing
This necklace is often chosen as a symbol of connection, companionship, and shared stillness — whether romantic, familial, or deeply personal.
Its meaning is not fixed. It belongs to the wearer, shaped by memory, moment, and intention rather than explanation.
Carried Forward
Under the Same Moon is jewellery that preserves silver, story, and silence.
A small night sky,
held close —
not new, but remembered.
