Recycled silver shilling
These lovely little personalised flower initials are a great gift for that special person in your life and i’m sure you might like one for yourself! Each one is handcrafted from a genuine sterling silver pre 1919 English silver shilling. Each and every one of these is hand cut and carved in Cambridge with the personal initial of your choice.
Sterling silver was the choice material of all English Threepence’s, Sixpence’s, Shilling’s, Florins, Half-Crowns and Crown coins before 1919. This presents a great opportunity to create precious metal recycled jewellery.
The vast majority of these coins have suffered substantial wear over their years of circulation. It is these coins which are not valued by most coin collectors. In most cases these coins are acquired to be melted down for the basic silver value. This disappointing truth means that all of the history, detailsand interest of the coin are lost forever. Recycling the coins allows these original details to survive and become conversation. Obviously it is important for the piece of jewellery to be desirable, wearable and beautiful!

    Delivered quickly, and just beautiful… I can’t believe you can get so much detail in such a petite and gorgeous pendant! And so lovely to get the coin it is cut from. Absolutely wonderful… And I love it. I hadn’t ordered previously because I wondered how rough the designs would be in reality, but these are expertly done and top notch. Highly recommended .

NECKLACE INFORMATION

Many of the necklace / pendant designs are complete. These designs have a sterling silver chain attached to the pendant from both sides. This design is perfect for looking in a mirror to fasten the necklace. It also makes a fabulous feature of the handmade hook catch (and star if chosen).  The necklace length you choose includes the length of the actual pendant. Do not worry about the pendant dimensions we will take care of your order. Order the necklace length you would normally wear and the necklace you receive will sit in the perfect position..

Medium size : approx 195 mm

Large size : approx 210 mm (good size if you want a looser dangly medium fit)
