A little more detail…

The new Teeny Weeny Kingsy Queeny bracelet includes lots of tiny details including flowers, stars, leaves, personal initials, including recycled silver threepence Kingsy and Queeny birds and old penny ‘beaten’ heart. As a Hairy Growler original bracelet it is totally handmade. The King and Queen Robins are hand cut and carved from 100 year old solid silver Threepence coins. These beautiful sterling silver coins are unwanted by coin collectors when elements become rubbed and marked. To collectors they are only valuable in terms of their silver content. The silver fragment links are also solid silver and each one is hammer beaten, with many engraved with lovely symbols displaying a true love of nature.

These Threepence coins are a fantastic raw material to use as they have lovely details and history (most being well over 100 years old!). Having the opportunity to re-use them rather than collectors ‘scrapping’ them for the basic silver content is good. The ‘off-cuts’ from the teeny weeny king and queen Robins are also included which beautifully connect the wear to their history and green and ethical origins.

Handcrafted & Recycled in Cambridge, UK. Size : Each section approx 15 mm * 30 mm

A bird with a crown represents royalty, divinity, and exceptional grace. The crown elevates the bird from an ordinary creature to a figure of nobility, a divine messenger, or a rare and potent symbol.

The tiny king and queen of the air, representing authority, majesty and wonder. The image of a crowned bird can be a poetic way of identifying a natural leader, someone who commands respect without needing to assert their power aggressively. The bird’s flight represents a higher perspective, while the crown signifies their inherent right to rule.

In some poems, the “crown” is not a physical object but an inherent quality, representing a soul of superior character. This can be used to describe a protagonist who is noble, kind, and graceful, distinguishing them from common or base characters. In mythology a crowned bird acts as a conduit between the heavens and the earthly realm.

Birds with crowns, like the hoopoe in Persian mythology, often serve as messengers or envoys for powerful, sagacious rulers. This can symbolize a prophetic message or a spiritual truth being delivered to mortals.

From a Christian perspective the crowned bird is a symbol of sacrifice and divine favour. The legend posits that the robin got its redbreast by trying to remove a thorn from Christ’s crown of thorns during the crucifixion. In poetry, this story transforms the bird’s natural coloring into a symbol of a selfless act of faith and determination.

Sometimes, one might be tempted to use the image of a crowned bird to subvert traditional ideas of royalty, it could be used to satirize human vanity or the artificial nature of human-made distinctions.

These royal lovebirds represent a lovely devoted love that transcends worldly flaws. Their behaviors of lifelong togetherness, synchronized actions, and affectionate preening offer a powerful metaphor for human intimacy. Observing a pair of lovebirds often creates a sense of intimacy and seclusion, as they snuggle and appear absorbed in each other. This image is used to evoke the feeling of a couple who are so devoted they are isolated from the chaos of the outside world.

Lovebirds behavior symbolizes mutual care, support, and the small, gentle acts of tenderness. Their chattering and cooing can be interpreted as a special, intimate language known only to the couple. This represents a deep understanding and communication that goes beyond words.

The bracelet is made with love and filled with happiness and joy.
