Recycled Irish hare coin The three-pence coin was a pre-decimal coin worth 1/80 of an Irish pound. The Irish name (leath reul) literally meant “half reul”, the reul being a sixpence coin worth the same as the Spanish real.
Each one of these lovely Irish Hare three pence pieces is totally hand engraved, hand carved with traditional flourish scrolls and recycled, green in more ways than one! The reverse side of the coin is untouched with Irish harp design. You are also welcome for a small extra cost to cover time to request the unique engraving of the edge of the coin with a special message.

Sarah –
I’ve purchased the Irish Hare for a friend’s 50th with a lovely engraving around the rim. I hadn’t appreciated the size of the coin – so seeing that engraving around the edge – impressive. The coin itself and the hare are so lovely, coupled with the Ogham rune for her b’day month – blown away. Thank you. Third time of ordering, first time a gift. x
