A little more detail…
Handmade Squirrel earrings. I have used a lovely 100 year old silver shilling as the raw material. These stud type fitting earrings are sweet, lovely, unique, everyday wearable. I have freehand sketched the little Squirrels on to the silver shilling coin. I then carefully hand engrave the inticate details! I then chop them out with my favourite little jewellers saw.
Each pair is completely unique, contemporary, ethical and beautiful. They are presented complete with the sterling silver ‘off-cut’ which beautifully demonstrate the origins of the Squirrels and connect them to their interesting, recycled material history. Sizes : Approx 10mm * 10mm
The squirrel often symbolizes resourcefulness, agility, and a connection to nature. It can also represent diligence, prudence, and even a touch of mischievousness or trickery. Sometimes, squirrels are depicted as symbols of abundance, as they hoard nuts, or as harbingers of change and transformation.
Resourcefulness and Agility: Squirrels are known for their ability to navigate trees, find hidden food, and adapt to various environments, making them symbols of resourcefulness and agility.
Diligence and Prudence:Their habit of collecting and storing nuts for later consumption can symbolize diligence, thrift, and preparing for the future.
Mischief and Trickery:squirrels are often playful tricksters, perhaps due to their quick movements and tendency to steal food.
Abundance and Transformation:As hoarders of nuts, they can represent abundance and the cyclical nature of life, while a dead squirrel might symbolize the end of a phase and the need for transformation.
Spiritual Connection:Squirrels can also be seen as a sign of good fortune and abundance in a spiritual context.
