Willow Tree of Enchantment Ring – “Saille” – Ruler of the 5th Lunar Moonth – (15th April – 12th May)
Ogham tree ring made from a recycled silver Victorian Shilling.
The Willow of the sacred Ogham trees Tree of the 5th of the 13 Lunar Moonths. 15th April – 12th May seeing in the May Hare full moon.
The Willow is sacred and helps deal with grief, loss, depression and ultimately death. The willow also provides inspiration, emotional and psychological protection with a pathway for Love. Our ancestors thought it had the power to enhance fertility, which I also believe.
The Willow leaf ring I have created from a recycled silver coin are imbued with these connections and will make beautiful ring and protection amulet. The design is freehand drawn onto the slightly flattened silver shilling. I then meticulously follow this guide sketch with a traditional hand engraver. The design is then ‘pierced’ out with a traditional jewellers hand saw. It is these tools which allow me a close connection with each piece and to ensure your ring will be completely original and special to wear. The back of the ring is the Ogham rune for Saille. If preferred you are welcome to request an initial in place of the rune. The design is finished with a lovely hammer textured and faceted silver band also made from 100% recycled silver.
The ring is presented with the ‘donor’ silver shilling from which the leaf was hand cut. This is a lovely piece of silver which connects your ring to its previous wondrous history.
Size : The Willow leaf is approx 4 mm wide and 25 mm long.
Recycled in Cambridge. 100 year old+ Sterling silver coin.
