Feather jewellery handcrafted recycled silver coins
Uncollectible to coin dealers due to excessive wear, these coins are the perfect raw material to recycle into something precious, unique and wearable. In much of my art and jewellery feathers seem to make an appearance whether planned or not; They work for me as a way to focus my attention on detail. I love finding them around and about, outside my cave. It has been noted by some that call themselves friends and family that I can easily transition from a mindless rant about absolute nonsense to complete distracted focus on the amazing complexity and beauty of a piece of missing plumage ? Obviously I don’t accept the noteworthiness of this observation and i’m certain you don’t either! They are an extraordinarily beautiful part of nature that are always going to trump conversation (especially with me as i am particularly boring!)
Some info about feathers found roaming the internets :
Feathers were worn by Native American Chiefs to express their celestial wisdom. Feathers represented the power of the thunder gods, along with the power of air and wind.
As a Celtic symbol meaning, the feather was worn by Druids in ceremonies to invoke the sky gods.
The Egyptians believed that feathers were symbolic of sky gods too. Ma’at, the Egyptian goddess of justice, would weigh the hearts of the newly dead in the underworld against the weight of a feather to determine the worthiness of his or her soul.
In dreams feathers are believed to relate to travel or the ability to move more freely in life. White feathers in dreams indicate innocence or a fresh start in a spiritual sense.
