The tree roots of our ancestors stories are magical tales inseparable from the natural world. The focus of Hare-y-gr-Owl-er is to bring the twinkle of nature and magic of myth to contemporary timeless jewellery design. To create pieces which celebrate the natural world it is of absolute necessity to be in harmony with it. So rather than plunder the earth Hg specialises in transforming, recycling unwanted and discarded antique cutlery and silver coins into original, wearable contemporary jewellery. Each piece is completely unique, totally recycled and made with love.
Within much of our ancestors knowledge is an understanding of a metaphorical sea snake Jörmungandr, which encompasses the ocean and holds the water. This would appear common sense understanding as all water in experiment requires a container! The surface of bodies of water is always level, even and Flat. Indeed our earliest Etymologies (Isadore of Saville) of the word water come from Aqualious – water a equal, level surface. The triangle reresents all trinities on earth, for me the primary colours are of particular interest. Blue representing the sky, air, water. Yellow representing the light, sun, energy. Red representing you, your heart, blood, life. When you mix all of the colours together you get brown, the Earth. Mix yellow sun and blue water = Green growth, nature. Red and blue = Purple (you looking at the sky, higher consciousness, it goes on and is wonderful. The inner circle is the earth we live on.
