The “El-ahrairah, rabbit trickster folk hero” ring.
Watership down inspired jewellery is often what appears on my workbench regardless of what my original intent was when I set out to make something! El-ahrairah is a rabbit trickster folk hero, who is the protagonist of nearly all of the rabbits’ stories. He represents what every rabbit wants to be: smart, devious, tricky, and devoted to the well-being of his warren. Inspired by Richard Adams masterpiece ‘Watership Down’ I have created this flying emerald eyed hare ring, my vision of El-ahrairah.
I hand craft each ring using various traditional tools and techniques. As I am sure you are aware from looking through my work I have a special interest in hares and owls so this ring is filled with a great deal of nature inspired creative output! Other alternative stones may be available upon request, don’t hesitate to contact me. The emeralds in the picture particularly caught the light well. Typically they will look very lovely, but more of a deep dark interesting subtle green. If you really want permanently bright green eyes please let me know and it may be better to use peridot stones.
Each ring is carefully handcrafted to order, every feather and strand of hair is individually hand carved and cut using traditional hand tools. This time honoured process allows me to have a close connection to each piece, ensuring the end result is personal and unique. Handmade and recycled in Cambridge, England.
Each ring is completely unique, individual and original.
Size : approx 6mm * 14 mm.
