Artisan owl jewellery – handcrafted, ethical, recycled silver 100 year old half crown coin

“The heart shaped pair of owls are crafted from a recycled, worn, uncollectible sterling silver 100 year old half crown coin. It is hand sculpted, carved, cut and engraved. The owls have 24ct gold eyes . I drew the idea for this necklace whilst having fun at Glastonbury Festival and it is an absolute joy to get the opportunity to create, so don’t hesitate! A whimsical and beautiful necklace which is 100% handmade from recycled raw materials and is completely unique.

Owls “kiss” through a behavior called allopreening, where they gently touch beaks to groom each other. This silent gesture symbolizes a profound connection and a deep understanding that exists beyond language. As nocturnal creatures, owls inhabit the world of shadows and unseen truths. The image of them kissing suggests a shared intimacy built on hidden knowledge, with their love blossoming in the quiet, mysterious hours of the night.

This pairing represents two beings whose shared wisdom and powerful intuition are amplified through their bond. They do not need to speak to know each other’s minds or hearts. Many owl species, including barn owls, are monogamous and form strong, lasting pair bonds. The kissing action emphasizes this enduring loyalty. The owl’s association with omens of death and transition adds a layer of resilience to their kiss. Their affection is not frivolous; it is a profound and tested connection that endures through life’s darkest phases.
