The Ogham Tree Runes
Ogham Rune charm silver coin necklace – handmade and recycled
The Ogham trees are sources of wisdom, inspiration, solace and medicine for who knows how many eons. Each of the native trees have their own particular energy, balance and source of power. Each tree has its own connection to the moon cycle. Thirteen trees for the thirteen moonths.
Rune shapes and forms are perfect for carving into silver and stone, and are an intriguing part of Celtic and Northern European story. The Runes look striking as singular pieces, but can also bound together as a collection depending on mood and purpose. These are definitely tiny, sweet little charms / necklaces. Each piece is carefully and considerately handcrafted from a solid fragment of sterling silver 150 year old Florin coin. It really is a beautiful little charm to craft, although quite challenging because of its size – for instance, each Rune I have managed to cut and carve is approximately 7mm tall! will the entire charm being approx 10mm.
The reverse of each rune charm clearly demonstrates the ethical origins of the raw materials used to create the rune. This compounds the power, will and intent of the charm, making the purpose clearer and more effectual. Download Silver Rune chart
They look well on both braided cotton neck cords and the special Hare-y-Gr-Owl-er silver chains. I also have a lovely selection of Elder Futhark Runes
Size : diameter 10 mm

These small charms are beautifully crafted and are lovely and tactile to fiddle with on a bracelet! Asked for a slight change to one as I wanted Blackthorn and the wonderful Les obliged as ever. The care and skill that goes into even the smallest of his items shows what a great craftsman he is.
