A little more detail…
Lord Frith, the sun-god, and creator of the universe. In the rabbits’ creation story, he grants all the animals their distinguishing features. His messenger on earth is Prince Rainbow. Inspired by Richard Adams masterpiece ‘Watership Down’ I have created this flying hare necklace, my vision of Prince Rainbow. He is able to take the form of various animals and is a character in the stories of El-ahrairah, the legendary rabbit trickster.
He represents hope and a connection to the divine, often appearing after a storm. Prince Rainbow has a rivalry with El-ahrairah and is sometimes tricked or made a fool of by the clever rabbit. He can disguise himself as any animal, allowing him to observe and interact with the world in different forms.
This lovely mystical leaping and flying moon rabbit pendant has been gently handcrafted from an old sterling silver half crown coin. The coin has been forcefully flattened, hand cut, carved, engraved, filed and polished. The look and feel of this old English silver is perfect. Each and every feather completely unique and original.
The pendant is suspended from a delicate unobtrusive silver chain, adorned with an integrated moon and stars cut from the same half crown silver coin.
Size : Approx 35 mm * 35 mm
