Silver Threepence coins
silver coin cufflinks – Recycled silver threepence coins
These lovely little lucky cufflinks are a great gift, handcrafted using silver Threepence coins from 1937-45 when a St George’s Cross and Tudor rose design was used. The denomination was written in the legend round the outside of the leaves. The Glorious patriotic design on the George VI silver threepence featuring St. George’s cross on a Tudor rose was created by George Kruger Gray. The initials of designer Thomas Humphrey Paget are also present, but this refers to the obverse (portrait) side of the coin, not the St. George’s cross reverse.
Details of the Coin Design
Obverse: The uncrowned portrait of King George VI.
Reverse: A St. George’s cross over a Tudor rose, with the date divided on either side.
Designer: George Kruger Gray designed the reverse, which includes his initials.
Other Engraver: Thomas Humphrey Paget designed the portrait of King George VI on the coin’s obverse.
Handcrafted and recycled in Cambridge, UK
Size : Approx 18 mm diameter
