Recycled silver Florin coin
A lovely new woodland tree with accompanying wise owl sitting nicely amongst the branches. It has been meticulously crafted from an old English sterling silver florin coin. All British silver coins minted before 1920 are made from the finest sterling silver.
Once flattened into the required shape, the tree and owl design is roughly drawn onto the coin surface. This trace outline is carefully followed with an ultra fine piercing saw blade. The interior detail is revealed using the same hand saw and a pendant drill. Further dimensions are added by using traditional hand engraving tools. Each one i create requires a great amount of time and patience. Both the cutting and the engraving involve an exhausting amount of focus!
The tree is finished with a simple mounted crescent moon or star hanging freely at the bale. For added interest the ‘off-cut’ surrounding coin is included. It is a wonderful scrap piece of silver that ties your new tree to its historical, green origins.
Size : Approx 40 mm * 35 mm

Wonderful!
I spent a long time choosing which necklace to buy as there are so many wonderful designs to choose from. I definitely made the right choice as I’m absolutely delighted with my necklace – the detail is amazing! Hopefully I’ll be the proud owner of some more pieces in the future 🙂
