Diwali precious celebration gift
Recycled silver Half Crown
The fabulous Ganesha is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in India and devotion flows universally around the world. Of all Ganesha’s beautiful features the elephant head is my personal favourite. Ganesha is widely revered as the patron of Arts and a remover of obstacles.
There is at least 1500 + years of beautiful folk art dedicated to Ganesha so having Ganesha as inspiration to create a piece of jewellery is overwhelming. Already so many beautiful examples both historical and contemporary. My interpretation of Ganesha is a necklace meticulously and lovingly crafted using 100% recycled silver Half Crown coin. Ganesha has been represented with the head of an elephant since the early stages of his appearance in Indian art. Some of the earliest images of show Ganesha with a broken tusk. Ganesha’s earliest name was Ekadanta (One Tusked). These were two major features I defo wanted to honour. Each one is completely handcrafted and unique.
For added interest and provenance for the wearer ‘off-cut’ of the ‘donor’ recycled silver coin is packed with the necklace as a source of interest and a reminder of the recycled nature of the bracelet, the history of the silver and the infinite flow of energy throughout the universe.
Size : Approx 40 mm * 27 mm.

Ganesha
I recently bought a Ganesha necklace for my wife’s 50th birthday. The service from Hairy Growler was excellent. As for her present, she loved it!
