The two beautiful mermaids have been released from an old Victorian dessert spoon. The shape of the spoon ‘bowl’ gives the mermaids a beautiful natural curve and shape. The surface is hand engraved with details. Each one of these necklaces i make will be unique, individual, different and equally, if not more beautiful than the one you see. The anchor is cut from the handle of the spoon! Completely ethical, original and recycled.
Mermaids symbolize a wide range of ideas, including the dual nature of life (both beautiful and dangerous), the allure of the unknown, femininity, temptation, freedom, transformation, and emotional depth. As mystical creatures of the ocean, they are often associated with subconscious states, the wild, untamed aspects of nature, and the complex journey of self-discovery and spiritual renewal.
Mermaids represent the simultaneous presence of beauty and peril, mirroring the seductive yet destructive nature of the sea itself. Their enchanting appearance can symbolize temptation, leading to the loss of one’s rational self or life, as seen in the myth of sirens.
As beings of the deep ocean, they embody the mystery and unexplored depths of the world and human experience. Their connection to the water signifies the subconscious, representing hidden depths of feeling and intuition.
Mermaids are often seen as symbols of the wild feminine, a force that is both nurturing and powerful. Their unique form, bridging human and aquatic worlds, makes them a potent symbol of personal transformation, self-discovery, and evolution.
Mermaids are often depicted as wistful beings, expressing a deep longing for something beyond their reach, such as freedom from the sea or human connection. They are also closely linked to the overwhelming and uncontrollable power of nature, particularly the ocean, which can be both life-giving and devastating.
Their association with water also positions them as symbols of renewal, emotional healing, and the wisdom to navigate life’s emotional challenges
