Moon Gazing Hare
Recycled vintage spoon
An old, unwanted vintage EPNS dessert spoon transformed using traditional hand tools and a passion for green principles and ethics.
Each hare is carefully outlined on the surface of the spoon. This is slowly and meticulously followed with a traditional jewellers piercing saw. The final shape is filed and polished to perfection. An old spoon recycled into a gorgeous pair of wearable brooches
An integral and interesting part of the brooch is the antique dessert spoon from which it was cut. This simple ‘donor’ spoon is also given a little ‘Hairy Growler’ treatment. It is transformed in to an wonderful Objects D’ Art which acts a lovely resting place for the brooch when not being worn. Both are presented in a lovely box.
Each one of these beautifully crafted moon gazing hare brooches is handmade, totally green, completely ethical, 100 % recycled and utterly unique.
Handmade and recycled in Cambridge.
Size : Hare approx 42 mm * 36 mm | Moon 20mm

Amazing
I’ve bought this as a gift for one of my Bridesmaids and I don’t want to give it to her! I want it & I’m not a broach person!!
This is beautiful; my fiancé and I both just sit and look at it in utter awe.

True craftsman
From the detail on the packaging to the design and implementation this is top quality. The moon gazing hare is enchanting and the reverse space in the spoon looks great on my wife’s desk. She loved it, thank you.

A perfect birthday present for my partner.
I wanted a special present for my partner, Pam for her birthday before we get married later this summer. We both knew the tradition of lovespoons and Pam had teasingly hinted that I should make one for her. Now my tiny, intricate crafting skills are nowhere up to the job, I’m much better with bigger projects!
I remembered that the Hairy Growler made jewellery from recycled spoons and as we both revere hares as wonderful, mystical creatures; the Moongazing Hare brooch, made from a recycled silver spoon was perfect as a token of my love. It will be proudly worn as part of her wedding regalia too.
Many thanks, Mr. H.G. you are a master craftsman. Richard
