A little more detail…

Recyced spoon brooch

Each one of these lovely little brooches are handcrafted and recycled from a dessert spoon ‘bowl’. The spoon handle is cut off and the bowl is freehand decorated with the mushroom design.
Each design being unique. This design is then precisely followed using a hand piercing saw and mini drill. Once the main elements are sufficiently developed the design is honed in with a filed and eventually polish.

An integral and interesting part of the brooch is the spoon from which it was cut. This simple ‘donor’ spoon is also given a little ‘Hairy Growler’ treatment. It is transformed in to an wonderful Objects D’ Art which acts a lovely resting place for the brooch when not being worn.
