Recycled silver Florin coin
This beautiful little love heart tree has been meticulously crafted from an old English sterling silver Florin coin. The coin itself was minted in 1902 from the finest silver. Not only does the silver ‘some-how’ feel warmer and more beautiful it also has the depth of its history behind it. This combined with the fact that it is more ethical and green to use than freshly mined and processed silver make it the perfect raw material for a gorgeous tree and birdy pendant!
Once flattened into the required shape, the birdy and heart leaf tree design is roughly drawn onto the coin surface. This trace outline is carefully followed with an ultra fine piercing saw blade. The interior detail is revealed using the same hand saw and a pendant drill. The silver is also meticulously hand carved and engraved.

beautiful piece of artwork
Thank you so much Les for such a beautiful piece of artwork. You really capture the beauty spirit and life of trees and birds in your work. It is obvious that you have a great love of nature. The tiny attention to detail is lovely; I enjoy wearing it everyday and a lot of people have made lovely comments on it. The character of the little robin is really brought out in all the details; his eyelashes and feathers. The engraving on the tree trunk reflects the light beautifully also. Something new born from the old and discarded; somehow such a story of hope and inspiration. Thankyou for bringing light into the world with your beautiful art.
blessings, H 🙂
