Recycled silver coins
We currently have a lovely ‘piratesque’ canvas money bag full of very old (1800’s) sterling silver English sixpence and threepence coins. These were a lucky purchase from a coin collector who was selling them due to them not being ‘mint’ examples. Since getting my hands on them I have been thinking about possible ways to creatively recycle them.
These lovely tree cufflinks are cut from some of the sterling silver 1880’s sixpences. After being individually handcut they are then fused onto the surface of more silver sixpences. The opposite sides are sterling silver English threepence pieces. The cufflink chain is also completely recycled sterling silver made at the workshop.
The cufflink set above is asymetrical, allowing the wearer to enjoy the beauty of both spring and autumn. You are welcome to select these or select two symetrical trees, the choice or season is yours!
