This lovely interconnected, interlaced, interwoven triplet of hares necklace pendant amulet was inspired the tree root connections to the natural world, consciousness and the art and designs of ancient celtic symbols. It represents connections between friends, family, relations and the interwoven stories of our ancestors and animals with whom we share the experience of life. Each and every one is completely unique and individually hand cut and carved. Not to mention 100% recycled, green and ethical.

What more could you ask for really? – To be engraved with a small personal inscription of initials the reverse? well okay, I’ll take pleasure in doing that for you too.

The Triple Hare is an ancient and widely distributed motif depicting three hares or rabbits chasing one another in a circle, sharing a total of three ears. The visual puzzle of each hare appearing to have two ears while only three are shown gives the symbol a rich and mutable significance in folklore and art. Its poetic symbolism revolves around cycles, eternity, paradox, and the unseen unity that underpins visible reality.

This Hairy Growler piece is combining the inherent symbolism of the traditional three hare design with Celtic Knot work to form a unique piece steeped in folkloric tradition whilst being new and original whilst also being old, being recycled from an 150 year old coin. I feel like it represents us in the modern era.

The three hares are perpetually running in a circular formation, representing unending motion and the eternal cycle of existence.
This circular design evokes the cycle of life, death, and rebirth that is a central theme in many spiritual traditions. The hares are forever in interconnected.

The hare is strongly associated with the moon. The three hares symbolize the moon’s phases—waxing, full, and waning—and its cyclical power. This ties the symbol to fertility, regeneration, and the rhythms of the natural world.
